A lovely stork...
This is a darn big stork. About three feet high, with a four foot wingspan.
The macaws were lovely.
After the zoo we stopped by a great tourist attraction called Blue
Hole for lunch. The van overheated just as we entered the parking
lot. Perfect timing! So we had lunch swam, and played cards until
another one could be found.
Blue Hole was a very pretty place. An underground river comes up,
flows along the surface for a few dozen yards, and then enters a small
cave where it goes back underground. This is the initial upwelling.
Lois practices her very valuable treading-water hammer throw.
This is a spikey tree. I don't really have anything to say about it,
other than that it seemed cool. Lois tells me that it was the sacred
tree of the Mayans. How's that for random trivia?
